Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Test

Appleton Area School District requires all students in grades 2-8 to participate in a test to measure student growth.  Currently, WCA in grades 3-12 are using the iReady/SCANTRON tests to meet this district requirement.  Students in grades K-2 will be piloting an assessment call iReady.  WCA students in grades 3-8 does have the option to take the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment.  Students who wish to participate will take a mathematics and reading test. MAP tests are given to determine each child’s instructional levels and to measure academic growth from year to year. These non-timed tests, taken on a computer, will be offered each fall and spring. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s academic performance/growth.

MAP tests are unique in that the level of difficulty of the questions being asked of your child will vary to the level of your child’s learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. On average, it will take a child about one (1) hour to complete each test.

We are truly part of an era where our schools and district can focus on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Partnering to help children learn, parents and educators can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our children.

This tests are given in-person. Those who wish to participate will need to physically come to one of the following locations:
