September: Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Graf-Miller

Mrs. Miller is the 4K, Kindergarten and First grade teacher.  She has been teaching at WCA since it started in 2002. Before teaching at WCA she taught in California and Park Falls, Wisconsin. She is excited to teach the new 4K program this year.  Mrs. Miller has 2 daughters and a four year old granddaughter. Her oldest daughter and granddaughter live in Chicago and her youngest daughter is a junior in college in Virginia. In her free time she likes to read, take walks, watch the Packers and the Badgers and spend time with her family and friends.    

Mr. Pennewell


Welcome to the start of a great year with the Appleton Area School District! My name is Bob Pennewell, and I teach 6-8 Science and 6th Social Studies here at Wisconsin Connections Academy.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  I have lived in Appleton with my wife, her two children, and our 6 ½ year old son.  I enjoy boating, biking, and spending time with my family.   Besides teaching, I also coach volleyball for Eighth grade girls here in Appleton. I have worked at WCA since 2002 and have been amazed by the changes to help your students learn over the years.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!  If you ever have questions, don't hesitate reaching out to me by phone, email, or by logging into my virtual classroom. 




Mrs. Plantiko

Mrs. Plantiko teaches Spanish and the Success Courses at WCA, and has been teaching in the AASD since 2003.  She is married and has two kids, Maddy and Max.  Both attend college.  She also has two GoldenDoodles, Romeo and Nico.  In her free time Mrs. Plantiko enjoys yoga, walking, traveling, and reading.  Mrs. Plantiko also loves trivia and has a daily trivia question in each of her Spanish classes!
