April: Meet the Staff

Mr. Larsh

Mr. Larsh is the psychology teacher at WCA.  He has been with WCA teaching psychology since the high school opened.  This is his 10th year in the district.  Mr. Larsh is married with two children, Isaiah and Helaina who are 5 and 3 years old. They recently got an Aussie Doodle named Padfoot!  In his free time, Mr. Larsh likes to tinker and read.

Mrs. Smith

Teresa Smith joined WCA at the end of October 2020, splitting her time between Appleton Public Montessori, Elementary Virtual School and WCA as a district Special Education Teacher.  Teresa began teaching students with disabilities in 1998, spending time at elementary and secondary schools before staying home with their growing, moving family.  (Wisconsin is their 5th state in 22 years!) She and her husband, Adam, are the parents of 5 children.  Her oldest two are at college in Utah, and Idaho, the third is at Appleton North, the next is doing EVS this year and the youngest is at Classical Charter.  Her family enjoys canoeing, hiking, camping and exploring beautiful Wisconsin!

Mrs. O.K.

My name is Mrs. Ostwald Kowald, and I’m better known by my initials as Mrs. O.K. I live in the Appleton area. My two children are grown. Joy lives near Milwaukee, and Paul lives here in Appleton. Outside of school, I love to read and love to garden. Give me seeds and a patch of dirt and I’ll grow your lunch. I have been teaching for a long time, and this is my 10th year at WCA. I enjoy being a computer geek!

Mrs. Lauer

Mrs. Lauer graduated from UW Oshkosh with a degree in Elementary Education and has been substitute teaching in the fox cities since 2004. She also has taught the First Grade Here I Come summer school class in Appleton for several years. Mrs. Lauer lives in Menasha with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, biking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
