October: Meet the Staff

Mrs. Hare

Mrs. Lisa Hare teaches Kindergarten. This is her first year teaching at WCA. She has previously taught both third grade and Kindergarten in a brick-and-mortar school. She is married, has two adult daughters and a diabetic cat named Kati. Her younger daughter is attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Her older daughter lives in Appleton, is married, has a one year old son and is expecting another baby in the spring. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, going to the cabin in northern Wisconsin, downhill skiing, and spending time with family-especially her grandson.

Mrs. Kuhnke

My name is Sammantha Kuhnke and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in May 2019. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and this is my first year as a teacher. Prior to graduating, I was a 4 and 5 year old Lead Teacher at Play and Grow Learning Center for about 5 years. I live in Hortonville with my husband Jevis and 3 month old son Pierce. We have two cats and a dog that surely keep us on our toes. I enjoy reading mystery books, going up north, exploring different campgrounds, and traveling around the United States. Traveling to all 50 states is on my bucket list! I am excited to begin my journey as an educator at WCA and I can’t wait to get to know all of my students and families.

Mrs. Crum

Mrs. Crum has been teaching at WCA for 10 years and 29 years total.  She teaches a variety of business courses including Personal Finance, Introduction to Business, Entrepreneurship, Business Communication and many more.  She is also helping with the Freshman Success course this year and looks forward to getting to know students at that level since many of her classes involve upperclassmen.  She lives in Kimberly with her husband and has a son who is a freshman at UW-Whitewater and a daughter who is currently working on her Masters degree in social work at UW-Green Bay. She loves animals and currently has two cats and a dog and enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and swimming.

Mrs. Kramer

Lisa Kramer is our 6th grade language arts teacher. Lisa earned her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master's degree is in reading/language arts grades 1-6. This is Lisa's twelfth year teaching at WCA. She teaches half time and has a yoga / life coaching business for the other half of her day. Lisa enjoys teaching virtually as it allows students from all over the state to connect, engage and learn moving at the pace that works best for individual needs and differences. Lisa is married with four grown children. They are millennials and inspire her every day! Lisa recently welcomed a new puppy, Sophie, into her home.

Lisa looks forward to the school year ahead!

Hi, my name is Mr. Doden.  I teach high school and middle school math at WCA.  This is my 10th year teaching at WCA.  I can’t believe it!  I truly enjoy working with our students, learning coaches and staff.  I live in Appleton with my wife and two daughters.  My oldest daughter is Lola and she is now nine years old.  She just started 4th grade.  Lola loves to read!  She also enjoys playing video games on her Nintendo Switch. My younger daughter is Ana.  Yes, like the princess from the movie Frozen.  She is now six years old and will be in 1st grade this school year.  Ana loves to draw and color.  She also enjoys swimming and running around outside.  Some things you should probably know about me are the following: spending time with family is a huge part of my life, I’m a sports fanatic and I officiate football.  I’m also a huge Wisconsin Badger fan.  I can’t believe there won’t be any Wisconsin football this fall.  I went to UW-Madison for college and I graduated in 2004.  On Wisconsin!  I want everyone to know you can contact me anytime during the school day if you have a question or a concern.  I am always willing to help in order to make WCA the best experience possible for each family.  Good luck to all students and learning coaches the first couple of days of school.  Just remember, I’m only a webmail or phone call away!
