WCA Music FAQ

Who can take music courses? Any student in good standing (for example, with LEAP and/or Scantron assessments completed) may sign up for a music elective. Contact the homeroom teacher when electives become available.

Do I need to play an instrument? No. However, high school music students find that experience really helps.

Do I need to read music? You don’t need to read music, but it helps. If you don’t already read music, prepare to spend time learning treble and bass clefs.

Are the music courses hard? Students in K-8 find these courses challenging, but doable. Be prepared to devote time to completing each lesson, including listening to music clips.

More questions? Call or email your homeroom teacher or contact Mrs. Ostwald-Kowald, the music teacher.
